What the LSC does.
School Councils provide advice and make recommendations to their Principals and to School Boards on matters relevant to LCI who must consider such input and report back to LSC on how they plan to act on their advice.
This input is aimed primarily at ensuring the continuation, strengthening or expansion of strong academic, special education, arts, languages, and athletic and other programs at LCI.
The goal is to enhance the students' academic, social, artistic, athletic, learning and environmental development and participation through the combined efforts of parents / guardians, students, staff and the community.
LSC meetings provide a forum for gathering and sharing information and ideas between all the members of the LCI school community (Students, Parents / Guardians, Staff, and Administrators), the Ottawa-Carleton School Board (both OCDSB staff and elected Trustees) and the community at large.
